Meet the Stockists: Quaff East
Centred around wanting to build a place for their community, David and Eleanor have created Quaff East from the ground up, in the middle of a pandemic, whilst raising their newborn baby, Delaney. No, we’re not quite sure how they’ve done it either!
We sat down with David to find out more about their origin story, how COVID has thrown spanners in the works, and his creation of a cream soda espresso.
Meet the Stockists: Y-oga Store
Nestled inside one of Peckham’s infamous railway arches is Y-oga Store. Part yoga studio, part coffee shop, part food store, part garden centre, and all-round dream destination – we’re huge fans.
Meet the Stockists: Fridge of Plenty
An urban farm shop in the heart of Crouch End, not only do the FoP team stock some of the finest produce we’ve laid eyes on, they also run the company on profit-for-purpose principles.
They require all decisions to balance profit with people and the planet, have a pay ratio policy and offer employees ownership through shares. They also minimise food waste and donate all unsold food to local people in need.
This is our kind of company.
Certification vs. conversation – the question of ‘organic’
Every now and again we will be asked why Husk & Honey granola isn’t certified organic...
Supporting the Indian COVID Relief Fund
Throughout May, we will be sending 100% of the profits from our Chai Spiced Mulberry granola, and our Turmeric, Roast Banana & Cashew granola to verified funds working locally to provide - quite frankly - whatever is needed.
Meet the Stockists: The Float
When lockdown hit in 2020, Liv and Molly, the sister partnership behind the sustainable catering company Planted, had to adapt in order to stay afloat. They responded to the surge in demand for high quality, locally-sourced and environmentally sustainable produce by delivering homemade meals, baked goods, veg boxes and other essentials across London and the idea of The Float was born. The Float is a beautifully restored, zero-emissions milk float repurposed as a mobile shop.
A love letter to... British Quinoa
One of the best-selling and original granolas, the Quinoa & Buckwheat recipe tells the story of farmers, suppliers and produce coming together, in the literal clusters of granola, and also through the network of people passionate about doing business in a way that revolutionises our food system.
An Ode to Breakfast
I was brought up with the belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating breakfast was as necessary as putting petrol into the car, and going to school without breakfast was equivalent to going to school with no shoes.
What goes in to choosing the perfect oats?
The perfect oat is ultimately a matter of personal preference, but the oats we use at Husk & Honey have been painstakingly tried, tested and chosen for variety, provenance, flavour and texture.
