Strawberry Trifle Granola

So much more than a dessert, the Classic Strawberry Trifle is a nostalgic embrace of history and comfort that dates back to Medieval England where it encapsulated all manner of layered deserts. 

Early versions incorporated custards, sugar and spice, whilst indulgent sponge cake, fruit and cream were gradually added as the dessert evolved to what we know and love today.  

Well, in the spirit of evolutions, iterations and happily blurring boundaries, this Christmas, we present Strawberry Trifle Granola!

Made with a light base of vanilla rich oats and crushed puffed rice, the inclusions are the star of the show, using freeze-dried peach and mango powder for a light fruity flavour and jammy candied strawberry pieces rolled in freeze-dried raspberry powder for that tart pinch. Shards of white chocolate add a creamy feel to what can only be described as a Christmas-worthy breakfast bowl.

Enjoy with a splash of milk or jug of pouring yoghurt.
