The Bakery Bulletin | Vol. 10

Just one look at you, and I know it's gonna be, a lovely day.

Here comes the sun.

And not a moment too soon, as far as we're concerned!

The difference it makes to wake up to a blue sky, and to look forward to going outside, cannot be overstated.

And, even better, the return of al fresco breakfast! Whether you have a picture-perfect spread, a garden table that's seen better days, a two-person balcony, a chair next to the window or a front doorstep to perch on - we'd really recommend setting your alarm 20 minutes earlier, and soaking up the sun and the early morning quiet while you fuel up for the day.

Your Support Made a Difference

Firstly, we'd like to extend a big thank you.

Throughout May we donated all proceeds of our Chai Spiced Mulberry and Turmeric, Roast Banana & Cashew granolas to Covid relief funds for India, and we're very happy to say that, in total, we were able to send £688.35.

We sent half the amount raised to The British Asian Trust's Oxygen for India campaign, and half via GiveIndia, to their fund for ration packs and meals for families struggling for food in the wake of this crushing pandemic.

The wave seems to be slowing in the major cities now, which is positive, but the country is far from in control. A little reminder; until we're all clear, none of us are.

Husk & Honey in the Wild

Conversely, in the UK, May saw the partly-tentative, partly-ebullient re-opening of so many of our beloved stockists, and its been an untold joy to see so many of you throwing open your doors at long last!

What's more, we're so pleased to welcome some new names to the H&H family; we're now stocked in Beccles, Suffolk with Quaff East, across more corners of London with Eat17 and we've made it to Cornwall courtesy of BEANZ, in Perranporth!

Big stores, small shops, household names and newcomers. We love to supply you all.

Currently Baking

And finally - it's a new month and that means only one thing - a suite of new Limited Editions (and the return of an old favourite).

This month you'll be able to try;

Chocolate & Pear - Rich chocolate baked oat clusters carry slices of hand-dried pear and just a sprinkling of slivered almonds for an extra dimension. Perfect over yogurt, or for a mid-afternoon snack.

Pineapple, Cashew & Coconut - Honey-bound oats are mixed through with chunks of sweet dried pineapple and creamy cashews, with creamed coconut and coconut flakes baked through for an added taste of the tropics.

Rosewater, Pistachio & Cardamom - A return of a much-loved blend; an elegant granola with rosewater, rose petals, apple chunks and roasted pistachio pieces.

These Limited Editions are now available from the website, or direct from the bakery.

Enjoy the sun. Wear sunscreen. Speak soon.
